A Festive Contribution Garden Flag

The first guest arrived with a bottle, a bag of ice, and the firm intention of leaving early. The hostess thanked him, took the ice, and handed him a stack of glasses. “Put those in the kitchen.” Behind him came a covered dish, two people debating where to park, and the “kids,” all in their thirties, asking which room they could claim. Out by the walk, a holly wreath and a crescent moon were doing the introductions. Yes, this was the right house.

The porch lights came on. Another car door shut. The last arrival paused at the gate and waved through the kitchen window. The hostess waved back with a blender pitcher. Eggnog daiquiris were in progress. The guest who was leaving early had taken his shoes off.

A Festive Contribution Garden Flag takes its place beside the walk, welcoming the company before the first glass is poured. Our coastal holly wreath brings together Coast Trash script, rolling waves, a gold crescent, and a small red bow, printed on both sides of a white garden flag. A little Christmas spirit for the place everyone ends up.
